Using a slideshow is a great way to share your ideas and also structure your presentations in AltspaceVR. Here are the steps to get your ideas out there!
Go to Slides.com on your browser of choice and sign up for a free account. Then click 'New deck' up at the top to get started.
Create your slides, clicking the + button (middle right) to add a new slide.
Pro-tips: make sure you have at least 2 slides ;) and make sure you do NOT log into Slides.com inside AltspaceVR ;)
Click the Present button:
On the 'Present View' page, copy the PRESENT LIVE URL: i.e. https://slides.com/you/deck-name/live
If you are on a PC and in AltspaceVR, paste that URL into the AltspaceVR 2D Display and hit enter. Voila, your slides! This is more for testing, you'll want to use the next method for your actual events.
Edit your event on the website, click Show Additional Options, paste that URL into the Optional Website to Display, Update Event, go into your AltspaceVR event in the app and Reset Space (Ctrl + Alt + r) to see your glorious slides!
OK! Now how to we control the slides?
Back to Slides.com on your IRL browser, click 'Open speaker view', this opens up a new browser tab, this takes us to the Control Panel for your slides. If you are hosting your event in 2D Mode on your PC AND you are logged into your Slides.com account, you can use this IRL page to control your slides. Click the arrows to forward your slides. Boom, they change in AltspaceVR, magical.
If you want to be in AltspaceVR and control the slides, you can do that too! With the trusty 'Send SMS' button, you can text yourself the Remote Control link. Now ANYONE with this link can control the slides on ANY browser. So send this URL to whomever is in charge of moving the slides.
For bonus points, check out how to set this up so you can control the slides in VR:
-Another option is to add the 'Remote Control Link' as a bookmark to your AltspaceVR browser, you can do that here: https://account.altvr.com/bookmarks, then click Edit Bookmarks,
-You'll see 'Bookmark urls', roll over the green question mark for more details, format your text like this: [Slides](http://slid.es/s/yourSendSMSlink)
-Then when you are in VR, click your Browser button, Altspace Labs (botton right), Slides. Then use the < and > buttons in this browser to control what is up on the display.
-This is your own personal browser, no one else sees what is on your personal browser. You can also 'dock' this browser in the world space using the ; button under the Browser.
